History.

Lost and Found Market started out as a group of collectors selling things in an abandoned nightclub in Collingwood, (Melbourne) 2005. We have since moved several times, to ever-larger spaces until we found our current home, a massive 900 square meter heritage building in the middle of Melbourne’s vintage precinct; upstairs at 288 Brunswick St, Fitzroy.

Lost and Found is open 7 days, (11am – 5pm).

What we sell.

We sell a huge variety of vintage goods: fashion, furniture, lighting, art, vinyl, books and bric-a-brac. Almost anything as long as it’s collectable and vintage.

Stall sizes and costs.

Most stalls are 10 square meters and rental is $150 (incl GST) per week, plus 11% (incl GST) commission on sales. Some stalls are a bit larger and some are a bit smaller but priced according to size and position.

Staffing.

The market is staffed by smart, well-trained and knowledgeable people; with stallholders working co-operatively to assist customers. Stallholders are required to work a 4 hour shift every 3 weeks: opening cabinets, returning unwanted clothing to stalls, moving sold items and generally being helpful to customers.

Length of commitment.

Stalls are offered on a month-by-month basis, with one month’s notice required if you choose to leave. Likewise, management reserves the right to give a stallholder one month’s notice to vacate if things are not working out.

Re-stocking.

Depending on how fast-moving your stock is, you may need to re-stock several times each week. Stallholders are welcome to restock anytime the market is open but not while they are working their weekly shift.

Selling.

All items for sale are fitted with swing-tags. Each tag carries your stall number, the price and a brief description, (can be just two words).

The customer picks up an item they wish to purchase and takes it to the front desk to pay. We accept Cash, EFTPOS, Master card and Visa. At the end of each week stallholders receive info on what they have sold, (including the collected swing tags). Your sales are tallied and money is deposited directly into your nominated bank account. 

Promotion. 

We post daily to thousands on Facebook and Instagram, organize regular events and advertise on indie radio.
